Quality instruction in core academic disciplines

    Personal attention to students

VCA's intent is on assisting each students in the development of his or her talents, interests and gifts. Through small class sizes, teachers are able to know and love every student in a way that will encourage them to strive to reach their God-given potential, achieving a standard of excellence in their academic and spiritual lives. Our students are ordinary children who are encouraged and enabled to accomplish extraordinary things.

Focus in on quality instruction in the six core academic disciplines: English/Literature, Science, Mathematics, Biblical Studies, History and Geography. Students sing, recite poetry and biblical verses, and complete projects and journals as the acquire to body foundational knowledge essential to more advanced studies in all subjects areas.

    Respectful learning Environment

An orderly, structured atmosphere is conductive to students development and learning. Our intent is to instruct students to obey their parents and to show that same respect to all persons of authority as well as fellow students. Loving, graceful yet thorough discipline for misbehavior is meant to gently train students to make thoughtful, wise decisions in their daily life.

"At Vickery Christian Academy we nurture students for life before God.

We want our students to love God and know God."

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.                                                                            (Philippians 4: 8-9)

    Academic Excellence

    With a Christian Worldview.

As we assist parents in educating their children, the Word of God serves as our ultimate standard and guide. 2. The Laws of the Teacher

The word Know stands central in the law of the teacher. Knowledge is the material with which the teacher works, and the first reason for the law must be sought in the nature of knowledge. What men call knowledge is of all degrees, from the first glimpse of truth to the full understanding.

    7. The Law of the Learning Process

    7. The Law of the Learning Process

If we observe a child as he studies, and note carefully what he does, we shall easily see that it is not merely an effort of the attention nor a vague and purposeless exertion of his powers, that is required of him. There is a clear and distinct act or process which we wish him to accomplish. [106] It is to form in his own mind, by the use of his own powers, a true concept of the facts or principles in the lesson. The pupil must reproduce in his mind the truth to be learned.

    1. The Laws of Teaching

    1. The Laws of Teaching

Teaching, in its simplest sense, is the communication of experience. This experience may consist of facts, truths, doctrines, ideas, or ideals, or it may consist of the processes or skills of an art, but whatever the substance, the mode, or the aim of the teaching, the act itself, fundamentally considered, is always substantially the same: it is a communication of experience.
